Overview

What is profhilo?

What it is

Profhilo is an injectable skin booster made from a high concentration of hyaluronic acid. Rather than adding volume in one spot, it spreads through the skin after placement at specific points, supporting hydration and overall skin quality.

Who it's for

It suits adults whose skin looks dull, dehydrated or less firm than it used to, on the face, neck or other areas, and who want an improvement in skin quality without changing their features.

When to consider it

Clients often consider Profhilo when makeup sits differently on their skin, when skin feels less bouncy, or as part of a long-term approach to skin health.

Why expertise matters

Correct placement, suitable candidate selection and an appropriate course plan all influence the outcome. A practitioner who reviews your medical history and assesses your skin first can tell you honestly whether Profhilo is the right choice.

Before you book

Common mistakes
to avoid

Skin boosters work best when expectations match what the treatment is designed to do.

Expecting a filler effect

Profhilo improves skin quality; it isn't designed to lift or add shape. If volume is your concern, Rae can explain other options.

Stopping after one session

It's usually delivered as a course. Skipping the plan can limit what you see.

Neglecting everyday skincare

Sun protection and a good routine help protect your investment in your skin.

Our process

Five considered steps

Step 1 – Get in touch

Call 07457 414718 or send the enquiry form. Tell Rae what you'd like to change, or simply that you'd like advice. You'll be offered a consultation at the Chelmsford or Maldon clinic.

Step 2 – Consultation

A thorough, unhurried conversation about your goals, lifestyle and medical history. Rae assesses your skin and features, explains the options honestly, including when a treatment isn't the right choice, and a patch test is carried out where appropriate. Where required, treatments are prescribed by an independent prescriber following a face-to-face consultation.

Step 3 – Cooling-off period

Before any treatment goes ahead, you'll have time to reflect. There's no pressure to book on the day. This is especially important for first-time clients, so every decision is a considered one.

Step 4 – Treatment

Your treatment is carried out in a calm clinical setting, following the plan agreed at consultation. Rae talks you through each stage so you know exactly what's happening.

Step 5 – Aftercare & review

Your care doesn't end when you leave the clinic. In the rare event of a complication or adverse reaction, we will look after you and any corrective treatment is provided free of charge. You'll receive clear aftercare guidance, and can contact the clinic with any questions afterwards.

In detail

Skin Booster – Profhilo:
what to know

What to know about how Profhilo is delivered.

How it's placed

Profhilo is injected at a small number of set points in the treatment area, where it disperses through the skin. This makes appointments relatively quick.

Course of treatment

A course of sessions spaced a few weeks apart is typical, with maintenance discussed afterwards. Rae will recommend a plan based on your skin.

Areas treated

The face is most common, but the neck and other areas where skin looks crepey or dehydrated may also be suitable.

Profhilo vs other skin treatments

Profhilo can complement other treatments such as polynucleotides, Seventy Hyal, medical-grade facials or microneedling. Rae will help you choose the right combination, or just one, based on your goals.

Preparing for treatment

Safety, suitability
and what to expect

Before your consultation

Make a note of any medical conditions, medicines, supplements and allergies, plus any previous aesthetic treatments and when you had them. This helps Rae review your medical history accurately and tailor, or, where needed, adjust, your plan to keep you safe. If you have an important event coming up, mention it so treatment can be timed sensibly.

Questions worth asking

What result is realistic for me? How many sessions might I need? What does aftercare involve, and who do I contact if something doesn't feel right? A good practitioner welcomes these questions. Rae will answer them openly and will tell you if a treatment isn't the right choice for you.

On the day

Arrive with a clean face where possible and allow time to go through consent and any final questions. Nothing goes ahead until you're comfortable, and first-time clients will already have had a cooling-off period since their consultation.
