Overview

What is polynucleotides?

What it is

Polynucleotides are injectable treatments made from purified DNA fragments. They're used to support the skin's natural repair and renewal processes, helping improve the look of skin quality, texture and fine lines over time.

Who it's for

They suit adults interested in improving overall skin quality, particularly in delicate areas such as the under-eye region, as well as the face and neck, people who favour a gradual, natural approach.

When to consider it

Clients often consider polynucleotides when the under-eye area looks thin or tired, when skin texture has changed, or when they want to invest in long-term skin health rather than a quick fix.

Why expertise matters

Delicate areas require careful technique and proper assessment. Rae has completed certified training in polynucleotides and reviews your medical history before recommending treatment.

Before you book

Common mistakes
to avoid

Polynucleotides reward patience and planning.

Expecting instant change

Results build gradually as the skin responds over a course of treatment.

Choosing the wrong treatment for the concern

If hollowness is due to volume loss, a different approach may be more suitable. Rae will explain honestly.

Skipping sessions

Following the recommended course gives the treatment the best chance to work.

Our process

Five considered steps

Step 1 – Get in touch

Call 07457 414718 or send the enquiry form. Tell Rae what you'd like to change, or simply that you'd like advice. You'll be offered a consultation at the Chelmsford or Maldon clinic.

Step 2 – Consultation

A thorough, unhurried conversation about your goals, lifestyle and medical history. Rae assesses your skin and features, explains the options honestly, including when a treatment isn't the right choice, and a patch test is carried out where appropriate. Where required, treatments are prescribed by an independent prescriber following a face-to-face consultation.

Step 3 – Cooling-off period

Before any treatment goes ahead, you'll have time to reflect. There's no pressure to book on the day. This is especially important for first-time clients, so every decision is a considered one.

Step 4 – Treatment

Your treatment is carried out in a calm clinical setting, following the plan agreed at consultation. Rae talks you through each stage so you know exactly what's happening.

Step 5 – Aftercare & review

Your care doesn't end when you leave the clinic. In the rare event of a complication or adverse reaction, we will look after you and any corrective treatment is provided free of charge. You'll receive clear aftercare guidance, and can contact the clinic with any questions afterwards.

In detail

Polynucleotides:
what to know

How polynucleotide treatment is typically approached.

Under-eye treatment

The skin under the eyes is thin and delicate. Polynucleotides are popular here because they focus on skin quality rather than adding volume.

Face and neck

They can also be used more widely to support overall texture and radiance.

Course and maintenance

A course of sessions spaced over several weeks is common, with maintenance discussed afterwards. Rae tailors the plan to your skin.

What to expect after

Small bumps or mild redness at injection points can occur and usually settle. You'll receive clear aftercare guidance.

Preparing for treatment

Safety, suitability
and what to expect

Before your consultation

Make a note of any medical conditions, medicines, supplements and allergies, plus any previous aesthetic treatments and when you had them. This helps Rae review your medical history accurately and tailor, or, where needed, adjust, your plan to keep you safe. If you have an important event coming up, mention it so treatment can be timed sensibly.

Questions worth asking

What result is realistic for me? How many sessions might I need? What does aftercare involve, and who do I contact if something doesn't feel right? A good practitioner welcomes these questions. Rae will answer them openly and will tell you if a treatment isn't the right choice for you.

On the day

Arrive with a clean face where possible and allow time to go through consent and any final questions. Nothing goes ahead until you're comfortable, and first-time clients will already have had a cooling-off period since their consultation.
